The face behind The Gentle Blade
Mercedes Davy (she/they) is a Non-Binary Toronto-based performer who burst onto the Performing Arts, and Film/TV scene in 2019 after graduating from the Randolph College for the Performing Arts; and in 2022 she had her Professional Acting Debut in Mansfield Productions, ‘Peter Pan, the British Musical’ as Bill Jukes (Pirate) and had her Professional Debut as the Fight Director and Choreographer for the production. Mercedes, has been the Fight Captain (and often choreographer) for many of the productions she has been a part of, including ‘King Lear’ (Multiple Roles), ‘The Oresteia’ (Slave Chorus), ‘City of Angels’ (Big Six), and ‘Shakespeare in Love’ (Sam). Mercedes has been a part of commercials, and productions in New Zealand and Australia, as well as her home of Canada.

Passionate, contentious, and tenacious, Mercedes spent 2023 living in New Zealand and training with the New Zealand Stunt School, specifically Stunt Coordinators: Steven Davis, and Dayna Grant; in pursuing her dreams of being a well-rounded, action driven actor. In Canada, Mercedes has trained at Rapier Wit in Stage Combat, and is an active member of FDC, pursuing her full Fight Director Certification. Her training extends to Circus skills, Horses, Fire Burns, Wires, Tactical, and several styles of dance, which make her a well-rounded, and versatile action-actor. She has trained with vocal and acting coaches such as Micah Barnes and Thom Alison, Marie Baron, and many more. She is actively pursuing her certification in Intimacy Coaching, in conjunction with being a Fight Director, and believes in bringing safety, and good story telling, to all productions she works on. Mercedes lives for new and exciting adventures in her career and life; and she continues to thrive and grow in this industry.
