What does a Fight Director do?
Fight Directors are responsible for Choreographing/Directing scenes of combat and violence in a production. They collaborate closely with the Director to design a combat sequence based on the provided script, that brings the story to life; while also instructing and supporting the actors on how to perform that sequence safely no matter how many times it is performed be it just once, or over the space of months in a long show run. Having a Fight Director on a production allows the cast and crew to breathe easier knowing that an experienced individual can bring nuance, expertise, and creativity to a fight scene.
